Here are some questions to ask and points to consider to help you evaluate and oral presentation at an academic conference.

Choose one presentation that you thought was particularly valuable and write a report.

  1. Topic/Title/Presenter.
  2. Summarize the contents of the presentation.
  3. What was most valuable for you?
  4. Did the title of the presentation accurately represent its contents?
  5. Were there any weak points in the contents?
  6. Were there any points you would like to see developed further?
  7. What are areas of the presentation that need further research?
  8. Evaluate the presentation style (speaking voice, gestures, audio visual resources, handouts, etc.).
  9. Was an opportunity given to the audience to ask questions or make comments about the presentation?
  10. Would you recommend this presentation or presenter to others interested in this topic?
