If you have your journal, please give it to me at the beginning of class.

Cross-cultural Aspects of Composition

  1. Today we will study about some cultural differences in the way people write.
  2. Researchers still do not agree about how we can generalize from this information.
  3. However, I have found that students benefit when I point out some of the conventions of Japanese and English writing and how they are different.
  4. Go here to see the Cross-cultural Aspects of Composition page.

Today's Composition

  1. You are free to choose any topic today.
  2. When you write, pay attention to the cross-cultural differences we studied about.
  3. Try to apply them to your own writing.
