How did you spend New Year's Eve and New Year's holidays ? 
I had it so and spent it.

I did rice cake making this year in the whole family. Of course  my  grandparents mede the glutinous rice which we used them. I used a mortar and the mallet which entered of the in herited them of service from generation to generation.

I went to Okuni Shurine in Kakegawa for a New Year's visit same as last year. I departed at about 9:00 p.m., but I fell into a traffic jam as expected and greeted the count down in  the side of car after all. At last, I was able to go and worship at 1:00, the following day. Ibought a lucky charm and pulled a sacred lot. It was the great good luck. When it should happen that-2007 is good, I think.

I watched the first sunrise of a new yaer in Omaezaki Beach. Some clouds appeared, but the first dunrise of a new year was very beautiful. I was worth having come I was sleepy and cold, and to take the first sunrise of a new year hot.

 If it says Japanese New Year holidays, after all it will be dishes for the seasonal festivals, it's called Osechi in Japanese and soup containing vegetables and rice cakes,it's called Zouni in Japanese for New Year's Day. I ate them not to mention me. There  are  meaning to one article of dishes for the seasonal festivals each. I played for luck with money up and ate a lot of mashed sweety potatoes,it's called Kinntonn in Japanese. In addition, soup containing vegetables and rice cakes for New Year's Day seems to be fifferent in taste and how to make by districts.
By the way, soup containing vegetables and rice cakes for New Year's  Day of my home is a soy sause base.

4. I pour soup stock, and ladle eight-tenth installs soy souce and watch taste.
5. If Itaste is set, I put rice cakes and close the cap and boil it.
6. If rice cakes softens, I put potherb musterd and close the cap and boil it more.
7. If two or three minutes pass, and rice cakes softens, I stop fire.It is completed in this.
