Housekeeping:

• Remember Communicative Writing has been moved from December 14 to December 7.
• You are responsible for giving me a composition each class. If you do not have time to complete your composition in class, you may give it to me before noon on Friday before the next class.

 Academic Writing

• Today we will look at some of the conventions of academic writing.
• If you write your thesis in English, you will need to pay close attention to this information.
• However, even if you do not write your whole thesis in English, you must write an English abstract.
• I will give you handouts containing the exercises below, but you may wish to look at them on-line before class.
