Writing Up Your Family History Project

  1. Look at the example I've written.
  2. Notice I've written about one of my father's patients, not about my father directly. You may choose to write as I have about someone your relative knew or you may wish to write about your relative directly.
  3. Start by giving a little background about the person you are talking to or writing about.
  4. You may quote them directly (i.e. have them tell their own story) or give a version of their story in your own words.
  5. When writing, include an example of a compound and complex sentence. Underline them and label them so I can check if you've used them correctly or not.
