Journal Topic for Next Class
I don't usually give you journal topics, but I
would like you to think about the following questions about computer
technology and the Internet in education.
- How do you feel about using the computers in
this class?
- Would you prefer if everything was on paper?
- Do you ever access this page from home?
- Would you take this course if you could take
it from your home and not have to come to Tokoha?
- Which is more important at graduate school,
getting information about a subject or making contacts with friends
and professors? They could be equally important.
Today:
- We will look at coherence and cohesion.
- Because the explanation and examples are long,
I will give them to you as a handout.

- I gave you a sheet of Transitional
Expressions in Term 1. The expressions
are very useful for develop cohesion in your writing.
Possible Topics
- I will not give you a specific type of composition
to do, but want you to write a composition paying attention to your
use of cohesive devices.
- You might consider doing a movie review, book
report, or a letter to the editor of a newspaper.
You could also take something you have read recently
or have been thinking about and write a composition. |
